2009
 Nov - Dec 09
A busy time for us during these two months: rehearsing our usual   repertoire and learning new songs for the festivities and events that we are
 invited to sing for
.

Mersey Harmony received an invitation from the BBC early this
month to attend a specially-formed combined choir to rehearse and  record two  episodes of Songs Of Praise - the first to be shown on  29th November,
the second to be shown in May 2010. About twenty of our chorus  members attended and all throughly enjoyed the  experience.

 Sep 09
We held a very successful singing work-shop for local ladies on 16th  September
to raise the profile of barbershop singing and to raise  funds for Macmillan Cancer  Support.
Well done to Lesley, our MD, for managing the work-shop in a fun way while being  able get across the complexities for four part harmony to  the uninitiated!
We raised a total of £186.86 on the night, in addition to £85 at a Garden Party
and £110.00 at a Macmillan Coffee Morning, both events organised by one or
two of our chorus members - so a grand  total of £381.86!

 Aug 09

Mersey Harmony is planning to put on a couple of events to support  Barbershop  Awareness Week which is occuring in partnership with  Macmillan Cancer Support.  Please click here for further information.

 Jun - July 09

During these very wet summer months we managed to sing at a couple of outdoor  events without getting too wet! We also received another invitation  to sing at the  prestigious Spirit of Merseyside Awards which, this year,  was held at Liverpool's  Anglican Cathedral.

 May 09
Mersey Harmony continue to excel in competition performance this
month by coming second, in their singing category, at the Alderley Edge music  festival, an annual event held in South Manchester
.

 Apl 09

Some of us were able to attend an Education Day in Leeds, an annual
 event organised by LABBS
We all had to learn the song 'Girls Just
Wanna Have Fun' before attending and then, on the day, we were  coached on
 the singing and p
erformance of the song
Although it was a long day it was good  experience and it was fun meeting ladies from  other North West choruses

 Mar 09
Mersey Harmony are proud winners of the Liverpool Performing Arts
 Festival - Barbershop category!!
This is an annual event that  takes place at  St George's Hall, Liverpool.

 Feb 09
We have received details of several music festivals over the next
few months. Be sure to check our Events Calendar to keep up to
 date
with our performances.

 Jan 09
January was a bitterly cold month and heavy snow fall meant we
had to cancel our first rehearsal after the Christmas break.
Also, due to a heavy work schedule by our hardworking MD Lesley,  Mersey Harmony has
decided not to compete in this year's LABBS Convention.  Instead we are to focus on performing in local music competitions and festivals.
